Chef Nancy Straw hails from Phrae — a quiet valley in northern Thailand where life was shaped by the rhythms of the land. Growing up beside her mother and grandmother, she learned early on that the kitchen was more than a place to cook — it was where family gathered, flavors came alive, and tradition was passed down through generations. The scent of dried chilies, garlic, turmeric, ginger, and fresh herbs filled the house; dishes like Kaeng Hung Lae were prepared with care and love, every meal a lesson in balance, aroma, and heart

Later in life, Nancy’s journey took her far from home — traveling abroad and building a life enriched by experiences in different cultures. Even then, her passion for cooking never faded. Along the way, she had the honor of working with renowned Thai and Filipino chefs, refining her skills and expanding her culinary vision.

When she founded Simply Tasty Thai, Nancy brought with her not just recipes — but memories, heritage, and dedication. Every sauce and curry is handcrafted from scratch.
